Inclusion Matters

Green Economy Coalition

This film show's how the Green Economy Coalition’s work in giving people a voice in policy processes leads to better, fairer, and greener outcomes. These citizen led dialogues mean that the green transition becomes a vehicle for tackling inequality for a just and climate safe future.

The film actually started life as a series of illustrations (yes, we’re illustrators too!) to convey the key policy insights from the GEC’s Inclusion Matters national dialogues report. And as we progressed through the ideas it made sense to create an animation to better tell this inspiring story.

We devised a repeating circle device to communicate the different ideas. From the gap between rich and poor to members of local communities being included in national policy making decisions. The circle was used throughout to help frame illustrations that show country-specific examples of the GEC’s work.

Here's what Emily, our lovely client at Green Economy Coalition, had to say: It was a pleasure working with Merlin and the team at Working Progress Studio. They responded so well to the brief, and helped us translate a complex report aimed primarily at policy makers into a beautiful animation that speaks to much wider audiences across our global networks. We’re delighted with the result and would highly recommend Working Progress Studio.

Emily Benson. Director of Engagement, Green Economy Coalition.
