Grief - Series of five animations

Sue Ryder

Our friends at Sue Ryder asked us to work with them on a series of short-form animations around different aspects of grief for social media, to be viewed on mobile phones. This was to test whether they could reach higher levels of engagement as they were finding viewers would drop off with longer videos. The animations are between 30 secs to 60 secs each.

The aim was to enable people who have experienced bereavement to understand more about grief and the different ways in which it can manifest. We told the stories through first-person narratives, using different demographics for the characters in each of the five animations. The visual style was bold yet fairly simple so that the viewer wouldn’t be overwhelmed whilst watching a short video and that they would continue watching all the way through. The call to action was to get in touch with Sue Ryder for bereavement support if they need it, as they offer an amazing free counselling service and have lots of brilliant resources on their Grief Guide site.

It was a great project and we always love working with our first ever client!
