Eating Disorder Series

Having badgered them for (literally!) years, we finally got a chance to work with the wonderful people at Mind on a series of animations around various mental health conditions. These animations were to be aimed at young people who might be going through something themselves, or know someone who needs help. The content would be appearing on youtube, as part of a drive to put out educational information from a trusted organisation, to combat the huge amount of negative content young people find themselves bombarded with.

Mind found a panel of people with lived experience to consult with on the scripts and storyboards to ensure that we struck the right tone, and didn’t mention anything that could be upsetting or triggering for anyone.

We followed the updated brand style and had guidance from the very helpful team at Mind about how the characters should look. It was important the animations were easy to follow, at a gentle pace and that the overall feel was reassuring, authoritative and calming.

So far we have launched the first three - around eating disorders - and early results have been really positive, with the first animation performing 450% above the channel’s average in the first two days! The next three will be coming out soon and the final three will be towards the end of the year.
